Shadelands is enjoying some well-deserved recognition from the press and the City of Walnut Creek, and the teams responsible for Shadelands’ rebirth, refresh, and rebranding are hearing positive feedback from property owners, businesses, employees, and visitors. A thriving business and lifestyle, mixed-use destination, celebrated for its vitality, diversity, and resiliency, Shadelands is seeing its day in the sun.
Bob Linscheid is president & CEO of the Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau, which is contracted to manage Shadelands and coordinate the Shadelands Property & Business Improvement District (PBID) Steering Committee. Shadelands is currently home to 106 property owners and more than 300 businesses.
At the Tuesday, September 17, 2024, Walnut Creek City Council meeting, Bob presented a comprehensive overview of Shadelands’ goals, achievements, and vision for the future, while sharing the district’s annual report for fiscal year 2023-2024. He showcased Shadeland’s rebranded and refreshed website; the reformatted monthly newsletter, The Shadelands Scene; the kickstart of Shadelands’ social media presence; and the colorful, eye-catching “Make the most of every visit” ads populating BART stations and roadway billboards.
