    Center for Community Arts

    Center for Community Arts is part of the City of Walnut Creek’s Arts and Recreation Department. More than 10,000 adults and young people from Walnut Creek and beyond make art in comfortable studios around the city. Classes and workshops include drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics, glass, fiber arts, jewelry, photography and digital media. The center also offers classes in dance, music and theater.

    Contra Costa School of Performing Arts

    SPA offers preprofessional-style training in five arts concentrations: dance, instrumental music, production and design, theater and vocal music. Highly skilled and passionate teaching artists lead classes and are deeply rooted in the idea that all students can thrive and succeed with proper training and opportunity.     The Walnut Creek Historical Society supports the efforts of community members to expand their understanding of local history. The Historical Society offers tours of downtown heritage sites and the Shadelands Ranch Museum. Books about local history are available for sale.
