Halloween Carnival at Contra Costa School of Performing Arts

October is here and that means it's time for pumpkins and costumes and trick or treating. And you'll find all that and more at the Contra Costa School of Performing Arts (CoCoSPA) Halloween Carnival, Friday, October 25, 4–6 pm. Held outside on the school’s campus at 2730 Mitchell Drive in Shadelands, the annual fundraiser is free to attend and has something for the entire community—activities and attractions for little ones, teens, and adults.

CoCoSPA is a free, public charter school operating in Shadelands since 2016. Hosted by Ensemble, the school’s parent volunteer group, the Halloween Carnival is a coordinated production by students and parents representing all five arts departments (Dance, Theater, Vocal Music, Instrumental Music, and Production & Design), who have volunteered their time to put together a carnival to remember.

CoCoSPA Halloween Carnival games for all ages.

Carnival games are designed for fun for all ages and vary from year to year. In the past, participants have tried their hand at “limb” toss, pumpkin bowling, and “take a chance” spinning wheels, with winners heading straight to the prize table.

CoCoSPA Halloween Carnival Trunk or Treat.

Trunk or Treat allows kids to safely trick-or-treat for candy and other treats from the decorated trunks of cars parked up front, in the school’s parking lot.

CoCoSPA Halloween Carnival Costume Fashion Show.

Youngsters and teens come out in full force for the Halloween Costume Fashion Show, showing off their most creative efforts. Held during the second hour, the Costume Fashion Show is open to all students. Sign up here with student name, parent’s name, and parent’s email address.

Additionally, there will be music to dance to, student performances, and Open Mic, where anything goes (well, almost). And, the popular Halloween Carnival Cake Walk promises a good time, and maybe a cake to take home.

Celebrate the season and check out the frights and delights at the CoCoSPA Halloween Carnival, Friday, October 25, 4–6 pm.
